Ok, here you go, Had a military forklift with the 163 engine, cracked block. Had a old mowing machine with a good l62 in it. the 163 pistons where slightly larger, but the wrist pins where the same. The crank main bearings where same size but the rod bearings where slightly larger. I would have used the 162 crank, except the front end was different for the forklight Hyd pump. Both head where the same with only minor differnces on the exterior. the flywheel would fit either crank. I was lead to believe the 163 was a 162 built to Mil specs, hence the slightly larger bore and bearings on the rods. Good luck, and if you need some parts, I got all the left overs.

Did you just want a simple yes or no? Anyhow the F-163 uses flange type thrust bearings like most engine do. That means, cranks, block and heads do not interchange between the two engines. Bore and stoke is the same. I am not sure on the 4 cylinder(F163) but on the 245 six cylinder you can only bore them about 30. Questions?

I guess the most important question is if a flywheel from a 162 will bolt to the 163 crank?
