I have a Briggs and Stratton engine Mod.#NPR6, Type #307055, Serial #1517049. I was wondering if points and condenser were available for it. A friend of mine had told me that ignition sets for Briggs were all the same, except for one or two of the really old ones. I don"t know what year this engine is - it"s on an old walk-behind sickle mower (no name or I.D. anywhere on it). How about coils? I"m not sure if mine is good or now. This thing sat in the weather for a good many years, but it turns over, the oil in it is clean, and I"m sure with a little work it"ll run. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dale(MO)

I have an old NAPA catalog that lists part number 7-050005 for tune up kit, 7-01009 for contact set, 7-01301 for condenser, and 7-01800 for the plug. It also says use kit number 7-01011 after date code 6906241.

I have also bought old Briggs engine parts at a lawnmower shop.

Ken,
Thanks a million! I deal with my local NAPA exclusively, so having the part #"s from them is invaluable (counter help isn"t what it used to be). Hope to have the old jewel going soon. It"s on an old walk behind sickle mower, but I have no idea what brand, as there are no numbers or names on it anywhere. It is missing the hood, and the previous owner said it had the name on it.

Anyway, thanks again. Have a good day!

The name of the NAPA catalog i have is NAPA Power Products Catalog. Your store probably has one. It covers Briggs, Tecumseh, Kawasaki, Snapper, etc.
