I inherited a 75KW generator with a continental R602 engine a while back. I was told it worked 2 years ago when it was taken out of servicce but its froze up now. I pulle dhte spark plugs and looked in the cylinders and they look clean and shinny. I filled them with penetrating oil to help if the rings are stuck. The starter wont cranck the engige and I cant roll it by hand. Before I get too agressive and bar it over I would like to prelube the system. Can I remove the distributor and use a drill to run the oil pump on this thing like a car or is this engine a different animal. Its old and I have limited info on the beast but my nieghbors have family in New Orleans that could really use this thing now.

Thanks for any help
John

Aloha, I don't know anything about the engine but if the starter is working and it won't crank over, it could be that the generator end is stuck. If no water got into the engine and everything looks ok in the cylinders I would suspect a frozen generator end. Would it be possible for you to separate the generator end??

Mahalo,
