I just got a Cushman 4 hp engine. Where do I find more information on this? The previous owner built the parts for the radiator but I'm not sure how to put it together. It doesn't have a magneto and in the instruction manual I have for it, it talks about a magneto but the wiring diagram doesn't show how to connect it.

thanks

I have a 4 hp model C-7 that uses a Wico magnito. I can't remember what model mag it is. There is just one plug wire that goes from the mag to the plug. I would be glad to take pictures of mine if you need any. It was used to build a mini tractor with an open screen water radiator. What model is yours? I'd be really interested in getting a copy of the owners manual that you mentioned if they are similar models.

I don't know if these guys'can help or not, but you can talk to Ron or Scott Burkland in Lincoln Ne 1800 216 4960 It's my understanding, that they have the old Cushman factory, or the equipment from the factory. I have talked to many Cushman dealers about parts for a 22 HP OMC engine without any luck. They all wanted to sell me a Kohler engine and a kit to make it work in my machine, or I could get used parts off ebay, not one dealer said anything about these guys in Lincoln. I stole their phone number from someones post off this site, I called them, they shipped me a new 22 HP OMC engine that fit the machine, for about a third of what the dealers wanted for the Kohler and kit. I know my engine is not as old an antique as yours, but if they have the old Cushman factory, and can produce new OMC engines, no telling what else they can come up with.

Most magnetos have only a spark plug wire.
Harrys Smokstak is a better place to ask.

www.smokstak.com

Also Google cushman registry

Look for a "Gas engine magazine" you can post a wanted ad for a magneto
