The larger pumps were commonly used in many tractors up to the early 60s - e.g. my 1960 John Deere 1010 crawler/loader has a Webster-Electric 4JDS1-1L pump rated at 23 GPM at 1800 RPM. Most such pumps that I've seen can be directly replaced with Cesnas and used standard SAE mounting. In my opinion, the Webster pumps were built much better than the Cesnas with cast-iron bodies, replaceble bearings, etc. Deere, et. al. were still using smaller Webster pumps in the 90s - the ID tags only read "Webster", not "Webster-Electric" anymore. Deere used them in their winches, and I also saw them used as snow-plow pumps for pickup trucks by a few companies.

Webster made some nice pumps. They have since been purchased by someone else, can not think of who at the minute. I do not understand your horsepower question. Remember the old rule. It takes 1 horsepower for each one gallon of output at a pressure of 1500 PSI. Remember pump speed cubic inch displacement of the pump per revolution and system pressure will determine how much horsepower is needed to drive the pump. Questions?
