I just boght a wisconsin 8 horse (model number, "TR-10D") for five bucks at a junk yard. changed the oil( the old oil was really, really black), then put fresh in not really making sure i had the right amount. i figured it had enough. Found out that it didnt have much compression because the head wasn't on very tight so i tighened it down. then i ran a belt to a 2HP briggs and to the wisconsin and got the wisconsin running. i ran it for approx.. 5 mins.It ran good at a certain rpm and poped at different rpms. i figured the carb was set wrong so i shut it off and went to go grab a screw driver. i tryed to turn the motor over and it was locked up. i later took the head off and wrapped a towel around a piese of wood and hit the wood with a sledge hammer. nothing happened. so then i put a socket and wrench on the flywheel and i finally got it to move. it does go up and down but man it takes alot of force. Whats the problem. HELP, im only 17 and i havent had enough experience to figure out whats wrong. Did i put to much or to little oil in. it ran fine. and noting made a noise like something broke. it slowly idled down and i shut it off. then the next thing i knew it was locked up. If anybody knows what the problem is or any pointers or advise, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much to everybody that helps me. Thanks again. Stephen.
