I have a small collection of WI engines.
A VF4 & THD.
I am curious about the crank case pressure dynamics of single cylinder engines as well as twins that are designed w/ both pistons up at the same time (TJD). This will result in large changes in crank case volume during operation. Are there design features to deal w/ this?

I don't know anything about the Wisconsin system, but others, Kohler for example, have a reed valve the allows air to get out of the crankcase as the piston comes down, and then close to prevent to air from re-entering as the piston moves up, so the crankcase operates at a partial vacuum, eliminating the power losses of pumping the air in and out.

For single cylinder Kohlers, for example, the spec for crankcase depression is 5" to 10" water column at rated RPM's.

Negative crankcase presure also helps eleminate oil leaks.
