Go visit one of the online shopping sites of an AC drive manufacturer (Rockwell Automation for example) and see what kind of small AC drives are available. You can get a number of different small drives from various suppliers that can be powered by single-phase 230V power and run your three-phase motor.

By doing this, you'll also get speed control of the machine you're running.

Hi Dave, do a search on variable frequency drives. You can build your own static converter but will only get about 2/3 of rated hp.
