I have an old Craftsman transit and tripod, in the original box, exclnt condition, model 16723. How would I go about locating the year it was made and possible value?

I just ruined my old craftsman transit by tipping it over on a concrete floor. could you tell me what model yours is and if you have established a price yet. Thanks, Dennis Sievers

Do a search on eBay for "transit".

I followed the sale of transits for a few months on eBay before I bought one. You'll get a good idea of what the public is willing to pay for one like yours.

And thats about what its worth today. Maybe even less it depends on the condition.
Vintage level guns are in fairly low demand, and thus take pretty low prices. Vintage transits however command pretty high prices, but that would be for real vintage, say 40's or earlier.
