Does anybody out there have a drill press with a 2-7/8" column? I broke the work table bracket on my Duracraft 500 and I am running into dead ends trying to find parts for it. Thanks in advance.

I have a Duracraft drill press for sale. Would you be interested in a second one for parts? Maybe Robert Stott could use some of the parts.

You can braze the broken casting as it's cast iron...so...you shouldn't need any new parts for it...just someone to weld it. (Probably a weld shop) Also if you're going to center punch metal on the table of these drill presses...you shouldn't use over a 16 ounce hammer and not do it at all when the shop is cold. Cast breaks easier when theres frost on it. Those drill presses are extremely top heavy and will fall over if you breath on them...they should be lagged to the deck...or bolt on a wide piece of plate steel on the bottom to keep it from happening. Just my observations...what happened to yours? Also, if you weld it...don't forget to add a shim if it is broken through the clamp on the column so it will clamp tight to the column. L8R....Fred OH

Is it really 2 7/8? Local blacksmith just dropped his Taiwan special and broke the column- found out it was metric..... .bought a Craftsman.

Didn't say it was made in the USA, but parts are only a phone call away, and two stores are within 25 miles.
