Most all these type carburetors have two adjustment screws on the side of the carb. One should be marked (H) and the other (L). After cranking the motor and running it untill fully warmed up, adjust the (H) to obtain the Highest and Smoothest R.P.M. at wide open throttle. Now adjust the (L) for the highest and smoothest LOW R.P.M. You may have to adjust the idle speed screw in addition to the (L)screw. The motor should accelerate fast and smooth, without hesitation or bog, from idle. If not, adjust the (L) very slightly in or out to obtain this. Hope this helps.

gg & scott, this is not to be a rebuttal or pixxin match,, but most people adjust their high setting too tight, too far in, the saw or trimmer or any two cycle engine SNOULD NOT run at the highest rpm attainable by adjusting the carb unless u want to buy new jugs & pistons ,, my comment is to set it with a slight miss held wide open, tighting it more the miss goes away & the rpms go higher & higher,, back it out till ya got the slight miss, hope this helps with the trimmer
