we build tire chains.

lay the tire chain out on the groung, all stretched out(not bunched up or twisted).

measure the length of the side chain and the length of the cross chain (including the hooks)

post these 2 measurements here or email me and i'll tell you what size tire they fit.

Our local harware/farm supply carries bulk tire chain in 3 or 4 sizes. It comes in barrels, and when you go in to get a set of chains, they consult a chart, and, using you tire size info, are able to know which width of chain is needed, and how long it needs to be. They cut that length from the appropriate barrel of bulk chain, attach "hooks" to it so you can couple it around your tire, and your all set.

If you could find a place that had a chart like that, you could compare the length and width of what you have to their chart to see what tire size(s) they would fit.

Bob... maybe the next time you're at the hardware store, you could write down the tire chain company name, address and chart publication number, usually on the back, and post it on this site. Then we could all order a copy. Wouldn't they be surprised!!
Seriously, I have a bunch of chains (50-60 sets) I need to get sized, and it would be a big help to have that chart.
Thanks in advance.

There are so many variations that the best way I know is to try them on a mounted tire. For example the same set of chains will fit a narrow 15" tire and a wide 14" tire. With the different profile tires available now there are many more possibilities. New tire chains often had a list of a dozen different size tires they would fit.
