how do you bend a nice 90 on sheet metal. There is some covers missing on my baler that I want to make. Do you have to take it away and pay for it or is there a way to do it at home.

Thanks

Stu

A simple but effective brake can be made by bolting two steel angles together pinching the sheet, then fold sheet over with a wooden block and hammer. 2 X 3/8" angles are a good start depending on how wide the fold is. This is a pretty basic set-up and can be greatly improved upon with a shop made brake, if you intend to do other projects. Do a web search for "sheet metal brake" for further ideas. Look for the book "how to build a sheet metal brake" by Dave Gingery and look at Link for a super heavy duty unit..... ..to get the basic construction idea.

I think the tool is called a BRAKE. It is long with a compression area. The material is laid in there then with a lever, you bring up one side forcing the bend.

Might try an airconditioning shop where they make their own ductwork. I have gone to such places before to have sheet metal things made economically.
