Hi Andy, I"ve only used one invertor based supply and that was 14yrs ago. Nice machine for what it was design for. Have you considered scratch start Tig? 90% of home/industrial shop work can be used with this type of equipment very easy. Do a search for Tig on this website. What I do for the more expensive machines is to take a Voc-Tech welding course for nothing more than getting to try out all the new welding machines. They usually keep the latest machines avavilable. Just let the instructor know ahead of time what you wanting to do. He"ll see that you"ve set-up the machine correctly then leave you alone. Besure and take a preclass inspection to the school before you pay your money. Some have ratty equipment. I would truley love to try out a square wave machine. Back in the 60"s and 70"s we were fighting stray square wave welding currents on Tig. Now they use square wave on purpose! LMAO T_Bone
