JB weld question?

I have two parts that pin together and the pin holes are sloppy. Do you think it would be possible to put something on the pins that the JB weld would not stick to and then fill the pin holes with JB and let it dry? Would it come apart again? What doesn't JB stick too? I was thinking maybe vasaline. I guess I should try my theory on some scrap first.

Assuming the parts are static, just use JB Weld to put them together. If you ever need to take them apart, heat with a propane torch. JB Weld evaporates at 650F.

How about spray silicone lube in the autoparts store.

Yes, silicone spray works great, I do that all the time. Some of the High-Dollar Devcon Epoxies come with a tube of release agent.

Blacken them with an accetylene torch with just the accetylene burning (no oxygen) prior to setting them in the JB Weld. I used this method to keep the babbit from sticking to the crank journal on a hit and miss engine bearing job.

I did a test using silicone, soap, vasaline, and all of them released well. I ended up using the silicone and it came out good. Will have to see how long it holds up now.
