Biught this from a bud of mine for 600 bucks, brand new. The picture is almost identical to mine, except my motor is yellow with a black tank. If the motor is not honda made it is a very close copy. The pump looks all cast iron, stays fairly cool, and a v twin configueation. Even has an oil sight glass. I believe it is also american made and put together at their south caralina plant, but i could be wrong. So does it look like i got a good deal?? Any opinions welcome!

YA SURE - there is no way it is worth around 1,300 bucks! EMGLO is the original and hands down best. They are also less than this wish price. Keep the air filters clean on youre China made pump and use 30wt non detergent in the pump. Youre choice on the engine but I would stay with 30wt there too. I bought the twin tank upright electric version at Pep boys for $98 and it works great. The air filter is VERY small and not well made. I think I may modify the head to take a better type of filter. jeff

The yellow engines with the black tanks are the "Power Train" brand. They are a cheap Asian knockoffs made to look like a Honda. They are supposed to have some interchange of parts with Hondas. Hondas like that sell for 2-3 times the price. Hondas are expensive, but very durable engines and very long lived. Gene Davis

Chinese pump.

If it gives you enough air, doesn't break down, and doesn't coast you a lot of money, it's a great machine, regardless of where it was made. Neglecting oil changes is the #1 cause of premature death for these machines, along with running them without air filters when the old ones clog up. Regular oil and filter changes and keeping it level, should make it last just fine. The pump is a Fu Sheng. Eagle compressor use the same pumps.

what your sayin is these pumps are pretty reliable as long as they are maintained properly. And what i was wondering also was, when do you suggest going to synthetic?? i feel synthetic does better than reg.. And yea the pump puts out more than enoght for what i wanted it for, and it ought to give long life because i maintain my stuff and dont abuse it. So what your thoughts on the reliabilty and synthetic oil??

Break it in with a regular mineral oil, then swap it out after a month or so. Leave the oil to drain completely, to minimize any mixing of the two, maybe even tilt the machine a little to aid draining.
