Looking for a torpedo or Nipco type heater to warm up a shed now & then, melt out some machinery if ti gets froze up.

Any difference between kerosene models or propane? One better than the other?

I have both,and find that the oil fired ones work well IF you use them in a well ventilated area. If you want to use them in a tight building,the oil fumes will kill you. Propane fired ones burn very clean,but the fuel tanks are a bit more hassel. The propane fired ones run on propane vapor,so you need to set the propane tank so a portion of the heater output warms the tank and keeps the propane vaporizing. If you do not,the propane will get so cold that it stops vaporizing and the heater will quit from lack of propane vapor pressure.
