I'm working on a tiller. I just got a new gasket for between the carb and air cleaner. This gasket has a self adhesive on one side. Do I adhear it to the carb or the air cleaner?

Adhesive to carb to keep gasket in place when removeing filter for cleaning, unless you do not clean outside of filter housing or wish to replace gasket each time if you do.

I'd stick it to the part that was easiest to remove and clean, as when you change that gasket, you will have to clean all the old adhesive off.. my guess, as long as it is a reversable gasket, will be the air cleaner..

As long as the gasket will go either way it really doesn't matter. The adhesive's just there to make things a little easier by making the gasket stick instead of you habing to hold it in place.
