I just had a buddy give me a set of 3/4" drive sockets with a t bar and a few extentions. I need a decent ratchet and impact. What do you suggest? I already have a good breaker bar.

I sell a line of professional hand tools called T&E Pro-Line. A 3/4 dr. ratchet is 60.00 plus shipping. All USA made and guaranteed. Maybe too late but was a thought.

Proto makes a good one. Picked up one at a large flea market for $20. The ones that come with the really cheap sets will cost you alot of bodily injury when they let loose, and they WILL let loose...

>>After I grenaded the ratchet that came with my brand X set, I spent $60 on a Craftsman 3/4" ratchet, guaranteed, of course, & it does well for me. Of course there is always Snap on..... .

Ho there Big Mike! Are you goin' through DT's from the Tales page being down too? Seems it always happens on my weekend to work. I've got a big brother that can break anything that can fit in his hands. He got so tired of driving that Craftsman stuff back (don't tell RED) that he traded off and got started on MAC. Now he has over $50K worth, thats right, the WHOLE STARTER SET! No, really he has a bunch of hand tools. I can only dead lift 600lbs, and I haven't tore the Proto up yet. Even workin' on the JD 440 crawler! And believe me, JD's do need their FIX'N...

Yeah Dennis, It's dissapointing 'bout the Tales page bein' down this week-end. Wonder what happened? Proto makes some good stuff! Anyone who can lift 600 lbs. NEEDS some good tools!!! heh- heh!!! I'am gettin' ta' be an ol' fatman ,but can still put a LITTLE torque on 'em!
Remember when I was in the sevice station about 15 years ago. Snap-On man wanted me to get there starter set. 'Bout $2500.00 if I remember right back then, and of corse didn't include tool chest. Pay only once a month, like yer truck payment.I bought a few things offa that Snap-On truck, but not that set!!!

Still in the DT mode from the Tales board. My brother is about your size. He dropped a valve in a 396cid big block a few years back, he took off the heads and lifted the short block out by hand and carried it over and put it in the back seat of
his Maverick. He drove to town and walked into a machine shop and asked for the price to sleave a big block, he walked back out and carried it into the shop and set it on the counter. When he looked back, there were 4 guys trying to hook it to an engine hoist to get it off the counter. I know, sounds like bull, but this is not fiction...
