Just wondering if any one had a country clipper lawn mower and your thought on its performance It has a 20 hp Briggs engine and joystick steering, and the joy stick steering i know very little about. And quick release system stand up deck for easy blade changing and cleaning.Made in southern Iowa, any comments to good or bad, looking for new mower.Trying to stay away from mtd.Country clippers are half the money as ex-mark, grasshopper, hustler scag want to know if any ones got one and what you think of it. thanks

I bought one just like you are describing last year and I really like it. I traded in a Dixon that was 12 yrs old. The joystick takes a little getting used to, I like it. Mine is 20 HP, 48 inch cut. I prefer the joystick over the 2 levers after I got used to it.

I heard mixed reviews on the joy-stick control when I was getting ready to purchase mine. I purchased a Ferris with F & R suspension ,better for my uneven ground and back. So many to choose from reminds me when snow cats first came out everyone made one!

Odd that you mention they are half the money of an X Mark. I found the Country Clipper to be about the highest ZTR on the market($ 7,000 plus) and I had my heart set on a 60" next to the top model of their line.I will say it is the best design on the market in my old farmer opinion.Maybe I should price one at your dealer source?

Well at $13,000, my neighbor wanted one, bought it too. Now at 2 years old its spent more time in the shop than at home. When it ain't in the shop it's spewing hydro fluid all over his lawn. He loves his Kubota 4800 tractor, but says the mower is a "spawn of the devil painted orange."
