Just bought this 5 hp tiller at a yard sale.I put a pump diaphram and gasket. Also, i cleaned the tank and carb. It started up and ran a couple of minutes thestopped . There was gas standing in the carb.Does the carb have a check valve in the pickup? Is there a way to get this brass pickup out. looks like it might be pressed in. Thanks.

What brand is it if it is a Briggs diaphragm cover should be sanded smooth and pull out the pin in the carb and sand the carb body smooth two the brass pick ups you better leave in and take a wire and run it threw the holes the then tack out the carb adjusting needle and blow sum air threw the hole when putting the needle back turn it all the way in then back out 1-1/2 turns the gas standing in the carb is normal good luck
