I am looking into buying a spray torch; does anyone have a website or two that I can get more info? What are some of the brand names?
What brand(s) should I stay away from?

I have searched this forum and it seems that "Steve U.S. Alloys" has extensive knowledge in this department.

Those systems are pretty neat. My cousin used to work at a shop that had one. Great for building up shafts and he even aluminized some manifolds and exhausts for our tractors and they are holding up really good. Just thought I'd bring this up as another market for your services if you get one to help pay for it.

I believe most specialty welding rod companies have spray torches. I would try someone like Castolin Eutectic. Dave

We bought a spray torch sold through Cronatron about 2 years ago. I don"t know who they have making them for them but we"ve had no problems out of the unit. Depending on what your doing they have two different setups. I don"t remember the particulars but one they call a cold spray that works at a fairely low temp and the other that requires alot higher temps to use. The one we got is the high temp model and we"ve built up and remachined several parts using it with no problems. Beyond that I couldn"t give you any more particulars about our setup if I tried and as for any of the other systems out there I haven"t a clue. Good luck.

630,

Which system are you interested in , the fusible alloys or the metalizing ? I have both systems . Send me an email with a phone # as I don't type fast enough to answer all the questions.
