I recently acquired this 82 gal., 2-stage, 3 hp, compressor. It was "originally" rated & tested for 200 psi and after I got it up & running...it did kick off at 200 psi. I have since backed the spring off on the cut-off switch diaphragm & it now kicks off at 160 psi. I may adjust it down furthur but how do I adjust the "kick-on" pressure? At 160 psi kick-off pressure...it kicks back on at 150 psi. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are adjusting only one of the adjustment screws. My Curtis pressure switch has two adjusting screws, one sets the maximum pressure, and the other sets the differential amount, {the difference between cut-in and cut out pressures}. My Curtis cuts in at 100# and out at 125# and has no trouble maintaning it and has plenty of pressure and volume without straining. Hope this helps you. GeneDavis

Thanks Gene...you gave me the the answer I needed to get the pressures adjusted. I wasn't sure that the smaller adjustment screw was working correctly, but now that you told me it adjusts the "difference" between the "on & off" pressures, I have gotten the pressures to kick on & off at 115/165 psi(as opposed to 175/200 psi when I 1st got it home) and will adjust them down a little further today...thanks again...Mike
