Hi 504-2,

As Dusty was saying you need a UL approved powered exhaust vent for your tankless heater, read as a OEM part. If you don't have a UL listed part then your probably going to fight with your insurrance company when the time comes.

Alot of the OEM vent kits have a provision for make up air as it exhausts the waste gass.

Venting by internet will surely get someone killed! Exhausting by-products of combustion is a very complicated subject that takes books written on the subject to fully understand the codes and concepts. That's why I suggested a OEM vent kit as all the above has been well thought out in advance for you.

It sounds like you need more fresh/make up air in your home. Many home today are too tight.
If you have a forced air furnace bring a 5 or 6" round duct from out doors into a return air duct. Then add a grill to the return near the furnace, for combustion air.

Dusty, My tankless water will back draft and freeze. This house is so tight that when the furnace comes on it back drafts. We added some fresh air to the system but I hate heating outside air. This is what happens when one contractor does the heating and I spec ed a tankless heater. 6in double wall gas flue
