I recently bought a used craftsman radial arm saw. With the saw I bought the seller gave me a retro fit blade guard kit, he never installed. Has anyone installed this kit? It looks like the blade guard that came with the saw if fairly good. Is this kit to be installed for people who have no knowledge of the proper use of this saw. It did come with a new table which I have already installed. Any info on this? Stan

The guard is for a reason. My wood working friends doctor saved most of his longest finger on his hand for four grand a table saw. The other fingers were in a huge plainer pretty much saved them. We were doing a small project together. I asked if the trama level 4 hand surgeons were on call today? He has more pushers, side pressure, and kick back toys I have ever seen. Must have been the menards table saw.
