Hi I have a Simplicity snowbuster 220 with a tecumseh AH520 engine. Unfortunately it is missing the air filter and part it attaches onto. Any help would be appreciated in terms of part number and air filter number. Thanks, Bill

Alma fair: 32:1 mix

I did a google search and found a digital copy of the user's manual and parts manual. Now I keep it on my harddrive.

And, I too do not have an air filter which is why I am on this forum in the first place-trying to figure out if there is one. The manual doesn't show or talk about one but I wanted to be sure. I guess it never had one.

I have an AH520 on a Toro snowblower. No air filter, never been modified.

the Tec snowblower engines I'm used to are SK series (Snow King), use same carb as lawnmowers, tapped holes to mount air cleaner should be there

you could maybe cross the numbers over if you have room under the air box

Don't be surprised to learn that there may never have been one.

99.9% of snowblowers don't have air filters. Just a heater box over the carb and part of the muffler so the carb doesn't ice up and freeze.

Snowblowers have been made that way since forever. Supposedly theres no dust in winter, but I can't say I agree with that. I've kicked up a dust cloud or 2 in my driveway.

A lot of older snowmobiles didn't have air filters either. Not sure about newer ones, haven't looked at them.

bill,
You are not missing anything, snow blowers do not use any air filters. There is no dust in the air, so yo do not need any thing to filter incoming air. Jim.

Rob,
If they are selling air filters for "snow blowers" on Flea-bay, someone is misleading people just to make a dollar. In 30+ years in the lawn and garden industry, 12 as distributor rep and the other 18 as a dealer, I have never seen an air filter on a snow blower.
