Has anyone seen plans on building a corn dryer

I also would like to use wood as fuel

Maybe convert a propane unit to wood?

I think Farm Show magazine has had some articles on that. Neighbor of mine did that many years ago. (He died this year- so difficult to reach now!). Big problem is to maintain an even level of heat that goes to the fan. He burned wood and the dryer fan air source was routed around the stove he burned the wood in. That"s the basic idea- some kind of plenum around the stove, routed to the input side of the bin fan. Bin fans with LP burners operate on only a few degrees of temperature differential-which is easy to do with electric solenoids controlling the gas valve via a thermostat, because the heat produced by the burner is a CONSTANT. Bio fuel burners are a different matter unless you come up with a system of a sealed chamber, controlled air flow, etc. via thermostats. That being said, I think it would be easier to come up with a bin system, rather than a small batch dryer system- where every little batch would be subjected to variances in heat levels.
