Looking for a countdown timer

I am looking for a countdown timer that I can use with a 110v appliance. Similar to the one everyone has on their bathroom fan etc. However, I need to find one that is normally closed rather than normally open. In other words I want there not to be power while the timer is counting down and then power to run through it when it reaches the end of the time period.

Essentially like a snooze feature of an alarm clock. Does such a thing exist?

It seems to me that an ordinary lamp timer would work. There will be no power untill the time it's set to turn on the lamp. Of course it needs to be plugged into 120 to operate.

Hi Ryan,

Use a digital timer, about $30, for lawn sprinklers with a relay to handle the high current transfer.

This type of timer has both NO and NC operators with 5 event 7day programing. Also a Honeywell relay, about $25, has multi-funtion NO/NC contacts with pilot voltage from 24vac to 240vac.

Depending on the load current demand, then you might have to use a contactor, about $40/50, to handle load current with a relay for handling the contactor operator funtion.

Some of the unmounted timers at Grainger may have double throw contacts. If not you could use the normally closed contacts on a relay and power the relay coil with the common timer.
