Sometime between 10:30 pm Saturday night and 08:00 Sunday my F250 was stolen from my driveway. With it went my 8 1/4 inch Delta Builders saw. A carry around table saw.It had made me a lot of money, I have had for nearly 20 years. A rugged tough thing I could air drop it into a project without damage. Loved it!I don't think Delta sells them anymore. Any suggestions for a replacement?

Hi Scott,

Bummer! You can download a free software program for searching out different info in web sites. They use this type for obtaining e-mail addys.

I don't see why you can't use the same info too search out your saw make on every creiglist.com in every city accross the USA. You might just get lucky and find the exact same saw.

Hi T-bone Not saw related. I'm wondering if a inline check valve is needed in a convection type solar water heater? Where the tank is above the panel. It seems the most trouble free. Circus

Hi Circus,

Yes you would need a check valve to keep the flow from reversing during the night hours where the solar collector will thermosphion.

This could be a good thing tho for protecting the solar collector from freezing at night.

If your using a differential controller and pump, then add the check valve to stop thermosphion and use thermistors to cycle the pump at night for freeze control protection as you would loose less storage heat with this method.

Sears has got a 10 inch portable, with its own dolly built in, has a router table hole also attached, no router, but you can add one later. I have seen it on sale for $250+/-, normally $399.

My friend said it was amazing the amount of tools that just happened to be in his truck when it disappeared. Old model taken for just a few parts and had a 6 volt snow plow from a 50's jeep on a 12 volt system. Put a chain through the cab a pull it over to take skins with no tread.

Ridgid in the latest home depot add has life time on their tool including batteries. Try ridgid.com

If it was close to May wood, Il. it is chopped by now and body setting on the street is the MO.

The truck was stolen in Northern California. I have no doubt it is in Mexico now.

Comming north always, going south not usually. That is assuming it crosses at a checkpoint. The American Government dosen't seem to care what leaves and the Mexican Government dosen't seem to care what comes in (once you pay the policeman with the M 16 the special import fee). Of course the truck could be all chopped up and sold off as parts, they could have changed the VIN or it may be hauling bales of pot. Who knows. I am hopefull for recovery but don't expect it. Replacing the truck will be way more painfull than the saw. Haven't even started to think about it. Worse, both tanks were full of gas.

Well, that would explain how I was able to walk freely right into Mexico and then it took about 30 minutes to get back into the US and that was by WALKING.

Also check out the Hitachi saw in that class; it looks good to me.

I disagree. 8 1/2" is very popular. Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee and others are still selling saws and Oldham and Freud are still making blades.

I also agree that the older machines were much more bullet proof than rhe high impact plastic stuff their selling today.

I would go with a replacement that blades are available everywhere. The 81/4 blade is pretty rare, these days. Same with 6 1/2 in. blades.

Stick with "cheap", now matter how frustrating to use.

GOOD STUFF ....only shop tools.
