It could be the coil or ignition module. Check for fire to the sparkplug asap when it quits running. Hal

All small twocycle engines have a small poundage of pressure in the crankcase. Check that all screws are tight and there is no leaking seal.

Make sure the carb is bolted on tight and if it is then the coil is shot and / or the plug is toast.

Look for a spark arrest screen in the muffler. It may be clogged. I usually throw that away.

Try taking the gas cap off and then putting it back on - if the gas cap vent is not working right there will be a vacuum in the tank that will not allow the fuel pump to draw any gas.

It could be flooding, starving for gas, ignition related, or just so worn out that it won't make compression or crankcase pulsations needed to run.

Do the diagnostics.

Pull the plug when it's dead. Spark? wet? dry?
