PCC already posted an answer on the compressor part.. water from the atmosphere will condense in the tank.

I saw a situation in a sawmill where a fairly large air resivoir (120 gallons or so) ended up FULL of water... it then forced the water into all the control valves and cylinders.. a real mess.

Hydraulics... any 'junk' in the lines can ruin your system. (Flakes of galvanization included).

Most installations that I've done used 'pickled' and cleaned black iron pipe for the main headers,
special hydraulic tubing for the small stuff.

Hi mm,
Yep, look for a drain on the underside of the tank. Some compressers come with a water collector unit to which the hose is connected. This may have a plug (drain) on it also.

I'm not sure where you intend to use the galvanize line. If you mean on the compressor, you can use any line that is safe for the pressure that will be on it. You don't need to be near a line that may explode. Good luck.
