I have a 93 Ford f-350 with a 7.3 diesel engine. The ABS warning light will not go out in the dash. This occurred one other time several years ago and was simply a blown fuse. After checking all the fuses including the ones under the hood in the power distribution box, all fuses appear to be good. Any suggestions as to what I should check next would be very much appreciated.

I have a '95 E350 with the same problem. Discovered that there's an ABS hydraulic connection box mounted under the truck beneath the drivers seat. It has about 6 selonoid valves and has gone bad. The part runs about $3-500 dollars plus labor to install it. It didn't sound like a do-it-yourself job since it requires some sort of special bleeding process. The mechanic told me the brakes will work fine without it, they just aren't anti-lock any longer. Been driving it for nearly 3 years with the yellow ABS light on.

Check your tail-lights, tail-light connections at the bulbs, and fuse again. Plus check any trailer you pull. I fought that for 4 years before I figure it out, bare wire on brake light circuit on boat trailer. It would trip the light even if it didn't shoot hte fuse.

Dave, Disconnect the battery neg cable. This will clear the code that initiated the warning light. After about 5 minutes reconnect the cable and start the engine (keep your foot off the brake). If the light comes on, it is probably a computer sequencing or electrical problem (loose wire, sensor, etc). If the light is off now but illuminates when driving or during a braking evolution I would check out all the wiring connections first and then perhaps reread Tractor vet's post. Good luck, Joe

Pull the cover off of the rear end and make sure that your stator ring is not comming of the carrier, also check your pinion and make sure that it is not comming lose , this happened to me and buy the time i found it it cost me a rear end and of all the rear end that i have done it was the worst requires to many special tools and is a pain to set. If it is bad i have a new carrier that is a posi unite for a 10.25 ford with 4.10 gear.

Have also seen more than one lose a side bearing on the diff. The metal particles collect on the ABS sensor in the rearend, ( as it is nothing more than a magnetic signal genenator ) "cloud" the signal from the wheel on the carrier, and the ABS thinks there is a problem. (which there is) Usually the speedo is sensed from the same sensor on many vehicles, so if the speedo is whacky, this may be your problem. Ultimately, replacement of bearings, carrier, etc is necessary as it usually chews up the bearing dia on the diff. Ford"s ABS usually has a self test provision where if you ground a wire it will put the system into self test mode. On my 87 F350 it was a lone wire with a plastic terminal and spade connector dangling around next to the parking brake pedal. It will only display codes if the light is on, so if you shut the key off and turn it back on and the light is out, you won"t get any codes. Hence you need to check these early systems with the key on. (turning it off clears the codes) If you are fortunate enough to get codes, you can usually call your dealer's service dep't. and they will Usually help you out with interpretation. The valve underneath on the frame is expensive, I ran my company service truck years with a jumper line plumbed around the valve. Come to find out, this is also why I had very poor brakes. Once the valve was bypassed, what a difference! Good luck.

Ok I see this message is very old but maybe you can enlighten me on this brake system a little if you even still have the same e-mail. I have a 1994 f-350 1 ton dually I have switched brake masters hoping to rid my truck of a spongy brake pedal no luck still goes to the floor bleed it a million times. I have bleed the valve as well and all this in order from farthest to the closest to the master. My Abs light has been on since I bought the truck, but I don't feel this is a significant part of the problem. I have replaced one of the front calipers and at that time the parts guy asked me if I wanted loaded or unloaded????? What does that mean and could this be my problem???Please someone help me.....

Recently bought a Ford E-350/1 ton club van.
New rear cylinders and diff sensor, $270.
ABS light still comes on. I'm planning to tow with this vehicle, so this is not a cheerful thought. Will try clearing code, and am planning to clean out Diff., so I can look at it then.
