Does anyone have good advice as to how to start a small engine and welding group for a local 4-H club. We need any advice on the following topics.
Projects, safety, instruction aides i.e., literature or publications regarding engines or welding projects. We will be competing with various clubs in our area this coming March.

This will be my first time working with a small group of local kids and I hope someone out there with prior experience can send me in the right direction.

Thanks

Chappy

Chappy,
My son works with 4-H kids, so I asked him about it. He says they get alot of materials and very helpful guide lines from the county extention agent.
We still have lowboy and cattle trailer blueprints laying around here if you need any of them,(these kids placed 3 years in a row at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo) I would be happy to send to you. Good luck and I hope you have the joy that these projects usually have caused around here.

I would be happy to receive a copy of the plans that you have. One of our projects was going to be a stock trailer to haul the livestock to the county fair. If we have time I wanted to build a nice trailer to haul small tractors on also.

My address is:

John Chappelear

Brawley, Ca 92227

Thanks again,

Chappy

The best place to start would be your local school shop class teachers. They would have all the up to date info and could give you a quick trip through the shop and show you some of the specifics.
