Hey guys im looking to get into farming amd im wondering if the 560 is gonna cut it. Im looking at an 806 and was wondering if the d-361 was the only diesel engine used in them and if not what years. Is the d310 in the 706 better than the 282 in my 560?and is there any problems with the rearends? THANKS

I had a 706. Real nice dependable tractor but who ever came up with that shifting pattern should be slapped.

Are you planning to start out with 500 acres? Why not use the 560 and put the money you would have spent on another tractor on seed, fertilizer etc?

I second Donnie on the 806.Bullet proof and possibly the longest lasting engine IH ever produced.706 with the 310 is also good.Rearends are the same in both tractors.I have(since '84) a 706(310),its pushing 11,000 hrs.Just pulled the crap out of it.In all this time, all that's been done to it is a TA/clutch and an injection pump.Forget the 560.

Just reread your post....You already have the 560.Keep it.It will make a fine 2nd tractor .Get the 806 as your 'big horse'.

You will not find a better tractor than the 806D. That motor is without a doubt bullet proof. The German 310 in the 706 is a good one, but so dang expensive if it goes bad. The rear ends will not be an issue in either the 706 or the 806. Hope this helps.
