hey guys i have an old john deere hydrolic cylinder. i heard that it was a low pressure cylinder and wouldn"t be able to lift my brothers haybine. is this true or am i ok to us it on the haybine. thanks again guys. jonathan s in northeastren pa

The important thing is that you use it on a tractor that develops the same pressure- not higher. If it is made for a two-banger and you hook it to a New Gen- you'll burst the housing.

Try it. A 3" cylinder with 1,000 PSI pressure will develope up to (approx.) 7,000# of lift capacity. The same cylinder under 2250psi will develope up to (approx.) 15,750# of lift.If the old cylinder will handle that much additional pressure,(if needed) it will work just fine.Any cylinder will only develope enough pressure to meet the demands of the load---until it reaches the end of its stroke.

yes it's true. the old systems were 800 to 1000 psi. haybine will need close to 1500 to 2000
