Another trailer question

My trailer came with a 6 wire cord and connector. I think the wires needed are:
#1 - Ground
#2 - Brakes
#3 - Tail lights
#4 - Left stop light, turn signal
#5 - Right stop light, signal
I am not sure about wire #6. Is it to connect to the battery used to set the brakes with the brake-away switch? Do I just connect the positive of the truck battery to the positive of the little battery on the trailer?? Thanks again for the help; you guys are the greatest. I have learned so much from you all here on the board.

I use the center pin on the cord or the #6 wire as my aux wire. I have a switch in the truck that I can turn the wire on and off with and use it for different things. Like on the flatbed I have loading lights that are wired through that, on the stock trailer the reverse and interior lights use that pin. So you can do with it what you like, but my advice is to put a toggle switch on it. Here is the picture of how it works.

In the "standard" setup, the center wire on the 7 way is for back up lights. I think Shep's idea is better- gives you more flexibility.

I think the little battery on the trailer is for break away braking. Mine holds a charge with out any connection. An occassional trickle charge should take care of it.

This is how I wired Mine. It has worked fine so far. I use Electric brakes and full lights. I do not have a "little battery" on the trailer though. Not sure there. But anyway here is how I wired mine. With the screw hole on the plug at 12 o'clock.... 1:00 hole Green.....3:00 hole Blue.....5:00 hole bronw....8:00 hole black ..... .11:00 hole yellow and the center hole red. Make any sense??? Hope this helps...
