I may have a chance to buy a Holder A12, 4 wheel drive articulated tractor(German). Seems to be compete but in poor shape. I know it needs some engine work, ie needs a piston, rings, etc. I would like to restore it. My question is how much is it worth or what is a fair price?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I would pay between 1.200 to 1.500 Euro.
You will have fun with it.

Hi Bernhard -- Wie gehts es mit Ihnen?

The A12 dates from the late 50's. Best to contact the folks in Metzingen to see if parts are still available, and if so, at what price. Not worth very much at all if you can't get parts. My cousin in Schlaitdorf has a Holder B 12 which has been a real problem in terms of finding parts -- and they're only 40 miles away from the factory.

How many tractors do you have now, Bernhard? And how goes it with the sugar beets? Haven't read about any flooding close to the Rhine -- so I hope you are OK, and not under water like they are farther to the East. It has been exceptionally dry around here, so grain futures have shot up. Just will not be much grain to sell at those high prices, though.
