Hi Clint, I've got a 1085 with cab. i purchased the tractor because of the large cab and cheap price. i can put my whole family and two dogs in the cab with out problems. the tractor is bulky for its horsepower. i think it was made to look like a "big" tractor but has the basic power train of a much smaller one. it can be kinda hard to work on with the dual saddle fuel tanks and battery boxes. worst shifting tractor i have. if you are in a high range, you cannot shift out of gear unless the tractor is moving. you can get use to it, but that doesnot excuse the design flaw. the hydraulics, well mine has come down with the M F hydraulic flaw also (i've been told that it is common with this series tractor, by several dealers) sometimes the problem can be repaired through an access cover on the right hand side of the tractor. but often requires a rebuild of pump/valve. parts about $280, labor to remove cab and split the tractor , about $2800. i've heard of fellows that flushed the hydraulic system with diesel, some with "fish oil" (sperm oil maybe?) to solve the M F hydraulic problem. i would not be that lucky. the first 4 parts i needed for the tractor, were discontinued and not available from the dealer, Thanks AGRO!. the other parts are high even by john deere standards ($28 for a $4 windshield wiper blade) the perkins engine is a gem so with all that said, i like the tractor, it fills a "tractor gap" that i had between small and large tractors. it looks good and is comfortable to do work in. i paid $6500 for it about 3 years ago with 6500 hours on it. i've got full operators, mechanics, parts manuals for it and one day i might try to break the tractor down and repair the 3pt hitch. but for now its a good trailor type equipment tractor without the lift. so, have i confused you? and MF guys, please don't take anything i've said personally, we all have our JD 2010's to deal with.
