Allis B still stuck, what now?

Have a stuck Allis B engine. Filled crankcase to top with diesel oil in hope of freeing bearings, rings etc, but with gentle tapping on pistons and rocking tractor in gear, there is still no movement. Unfortunately crank has two pistons up and two down so not much leverage there. What else can I try - any smart ideas appreciated.

I use what I call my "magic wand" It is a piece of 7/8 hex shaft about a foot long. It has been split on one end and welded back together from driving it with a 4# sledge. I have not ruined a piston yet. You can tell which pistons are loose because when you do some exploritory tapping the WD-40 will slash back on your glasses. remove thew loose one then go to work on the stuck ones. The sleeves will clean up and runn OK.

Any history? Been stuck for 20 years? or twenty days?
First of all soak and scrape carefully around top of piston as other posts have said.
Don't know about the engine but if big end shells, remove, and this may give you enough space (2mm?) to be able to crack the rust seal on each piston separately. If the rods have spun-in bearings, remove the crank before ruining these by pounding on the pistons with a big hammer. Once cracked it's just a matter of driving them carefully up and down until they can be removed. You will probably know from the history if some will come out easily. The ones on compression and induction may be OK, but the ones on exhaust will likely be stuck harder. Remove the easy ones first and you may be able to replace the big end to help turn the worst one to the top, once the seal is cracked. Just try not to damage the pistons and especially the crank and get the cylinders, above the pistons, cleaned up and rust free. Use care if prying on the starter ring - I bought a tractor with a seized engine and a broken starter ring! Just be sensible and use a large screwdriver or similar, which will bend, and not a huge tyre lever, which will not!
As pistons are at tdc and bdc, your initial attempts before resorting to heavy hammer will need the crank to be at least under torque, as there is little point in trying to free pistons in this position without.

On my SC, the "solution" went down through on two cylinders and didn't on the other two. We ended up beating out the #3 piston. It and the sleeve were already ruined anyway.
Like somebody else suggested below, it's probably the piston(s) and trying a gradual approach with the last resort as pounding is likely the best way.

I doubt the problem is in the bearings the pistons are the problem. If it sat with the stack uncovered ther is a good chance cylinders are rusted beyond freeing. I had a perkins engine with the same problem. I finally had to take engine apart. What I did do to get some movement was by removeing the starter and prying the ring gear with a bar. By doing this there is a chance of chipping a tooth so be careful.

I suggest you use tie ans patience. if your in a hurry, get the diesel out and spray BLASTER if you can get it, WD 40 if ou cannot. Gently tap the pistons for a week with a block of wood thereabouts the diameter of the pistons, rap the pistons the 2md week, smack them hard the 3rd, and pond them the forth. Past that, You might set dry ice on top of them not touching the block as best as possible, Dry ice shrinks metal a bitand that might help[. Put on the ice till its about gone, spray good with the spray and tap quickly. Good luck

I agree the pistons are probably stuck. You will need to rebuild the engine after getting it loose. Pull the pan, take off he rod caps and rotate the crank or remove it. Now try the pistons, some of them will move. If your luckly all but one will come out. Now make sure you can get pistons to replace the stuck ones and get a block of wood that just fits the piston and a heavy hammer. Start tapping then hit it harder and harder then get a bigger hammer--it will come out.
