I have a ford diesel tractor, I belive it is 4100,
Tractor serial number A253591, tractor model number 3L23B. I need to know what year and what type of tractor I have. I need to order a repair manual and parts manual.

Thank You

What you posted are the serial, and unit numbers. The "A" indicates that your tractor was assembled at the Antwerp, Belgium plant. The unit number indicates final assembly on Sept. 23, 1973. Model number should start with a "D" for 4000 sereies. 4100 is a stradle mount 4000 series, 4200 is the flat deck (row crop).

I'm not an expert on the Fords after 1962, but this link may help. If you have further questions, you might try asking them on the Ford board. There's a pretty good concentration of "experts" there.

Have you tried looking in the "Research & Info" Section of this website on the left? Under "Serial Numbers". If it's a newer machine, try www.tractortips.com.
