Robert, I'm going to assume your ignition system is ok, i.e. points, plugs, coil, timing, and advance. (If you're not sure, check 'em.) Make sure the carb has fuel going to it. If it has a bowl drain, place a container under it, open the tank valve and then open the bowl drain. You should get plenty of flow gushing to through the drain. If you don't, see if you have fuel at the carburetor supply inlet. Some carbs have a "secret filter" in the elbow at the carb. If yours does check that to make sure you have flow through it. If you have plenty of flow at the carb inlet, then you need to remove the carb and check the float setting and the needle valve. (You'll need a carb kit and carb cleaner plus the float vave specs.) If you don't then you need to make sure the fuel line is not bent or plugged and if it's not then go to the sediment bowl/tank valve. If you don't have flow at the sediment bowl, check the little filter in it. If you still don't have fuel flow, then the tank ports on the tank valve are clogged. You'll have to remove the valve from the tank.Go through this process methodically eliminating each potential source for low fuel flow and make sure your ignition system is OK and you should be able to find the problem. Regarding carb adjustment, if you have a Marvel-Schebler carb, the main jet screw (big knob at front of the carb) should be out around 1-1/2 turns. Hope this helps.
