I am looking for statistics on roll overs particularly with Universal Tractors. Does anyone know where I might find this kind of information? Your help would be most appreciated.

I really doubt that you'll find published rollover data you are looking for, but it'd be a very simple matter for you to acquire the data yourself with empirical testing. Just get yourself a Universal Tractor and find a steep slope. I'm confident that after only a couple of tries you'll get what you're asking for.

Judging by some of the replies to your posting I'm sure that many of the respondents will be more than happy to help you into the driver's seat...

Hey I rolled a AC D15 w/loader belly up and lived to tell about it. One of lifes lessons learned the hard way, sort of Darminian by nature.

Ouch, that couldn't have felt good. Anyhoo - for any of you who took the time to respond. Thanks though I am not certain there was much help. I will continue my research elsewhere. I have done some research with the USDA, NASD, and even with Universal Tractor in Romania... just haven't found what I am looking for. Thank you for all of your inciteful comments about the humanity of our society, they are sad but probably true. FYI I am not a lawyer.

I don't know how much luck you will have. There is not really a Consumer Reports type thing for farm equipment, especially foriegn made stuff. I do recall seeing some video recently about rollover testing on narrow front tractors vs. wide front. I wish I could remember where it was, but I think it was posted on one of these boards. Maybe try a search here for something like "tractor stability" or "wide front vs. narrow front". Good luck, for whatever reason you are looking.

Oh no, one of those people who either cares about us so much they will pass all sorts of laws & regulations that we farmers will be eliminated, or a lawyer that wants to profit from someone's stupidity - which will cause my insurance to go up, machine prices to go up for their extra liability, design, and parts costs which make the machine less useable. All because someone wasn't smart enough to use his tool in a proper manner.

I'm battling with a nieghbor that wants to get me into court, one way or another, in order to gain control of my land. With that hanging over my head, I'm getting to know the legal system much closer than I'd like. I'm getting to the point that I can smell lawyers a mile away. Even if you're not an attorney, I'd bet that there's one real close to you, and your "research". There are good lawyers, and bad ones, just like any "trade" or profession. The bad ones make it impossible for the good, honest ones to operate, without being looked at like a criminal. With that said, you won't get any co-operation from those of us that could be potential "victims" of over-zealous attorneys. Where we are "victimized", is higher insurance rates, on our farms, business's, homes, and hobbies (tractors being one such hobby). If you have a legitimate "claim" against "Universal Tractor", you wouldn't need the opinions of our message board. There are many sources for the information you're looking for. Any attorney worth his salt, would know right where to go, to get that information. You need not drag us in on your "scheme". Don't look for any "sympathy" from anyone else on here, either. If you're concerned about the health and welfare of people, you should be out educating those people in proper tractor and equipment operation. I've yet to see any tractor roll itself. There's usually an operator on them that screws up and causes the accident. You know, just like guns don't kill people, people do? But, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. What specific model of Universal tractor are you dealing with or curious about? I can't say that I've ever even SEEN a Universal tractor in person. I did a little of my own research, and found that they appear to be a Canadian-sold version of a Romanian-built tractor. Search the internet under Universal Tractor for a link to their site. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give you all kinds of info on their products - or maybe not. And by the way, the reason we all think you're a lawyer is because you blocked your email address, you're not a frequent poster on this board, and you're asking questions about rollover statistics, while anyone that was legitimately seeking knowledge or safety info would have asked more than just that question. Don't worry, you're not the first and probably won't be the last to get shot down on here, asking questions like that. FYI - just because we're pretty much a bunch of good old boys that like to tinker with old tractors, doesn't make us dumb or blind.
