OF COURSE THE F IS SUPERIOR, IF A DIESEL. BECAUSE SHE USES YOUR JOLLY OLDE ENGLISH POWERPLANT (& LUCAS STARTER, NO COMMENT) AM REBUILDIN SAID ENGINE, IT IS SIMPLE, LIKE MESELF. ME FAMILY OWEN WERE FROM ANGLESEY, THEREFORE INSANITY HAS CAUSED ME TO OWN LOTUS 7, SUNBEAM ALPINE, AUSTIN-HEALEY 100, NEW BUGEYE SPRITE. BE BLESSED, U R WELCOME IN OUR HOME, WEST TEXAS

The Ford 5000 is one the most versatile tractors you will ever, and just fantastic on hillsides, unlike the powerful, overated, and clumsy JDs. And it don't cost $15,000. to rebuild the transmission.

3020 or 4020 either or, both have superior options, such as all had biult in power steering (not the usuall add on cyl.). much easier to change dual pto, and an optional shift on the go trans (powershift) for the jd's. don't even ask about the selecto-matic that ford produced, but the most important thing to consider between the 2 models is parts availablity, john deere is much better

These are both pretty tough and reliable tractors, however, the 4020 is a much larger, heavier, and more powerfull tractor than the 5000, so the two really shouldn't be compared. A Ford 5000 and a John Deere 3020 could be compared however.

The 4020 was the "horse" in its days. I dun't know about that thar Ferd, but the Deere was made to werk. The horsepower is great from the 4020. It a good all around useful tractor.
