I misplaced the information I received, from this site, on a 1939 John Deere L. What were the original tire sizes, both rear and front? Were all the hubcaps the disc type? On the tractor I purchased, there is a small cap that goes over the wheel bearing and nut and then there are three arms that bolt to the front wheel. Is that correct or should it just be a disc? Where can I find information on the Hercules NXA engine? Thanks.

Hello Larry. Saw your post. I would get in touch with john at rusty acres. His e- mail is vintage tractors.com He has a lot of parts for the l. I have one of them also it is being refurbished now. I think the rear tires are 7.50 by 22. Not sure on front ones it is 4by 12 i think. Mine has a hub cap on the front.with three bolts to the rim.The bolts go from the inside of the rim in to the hub cap. They are a deal to get loose too. Archie

Thanks, John. Thanks for the explanation of how the hub cap is secured.

Thanks also for the referral to John at Rusty Acres.
