It really depends on the type of snow and the depth. You'll have to experiment a bit to find what works best for you. A couple hints I can give you is; 1 Don't be afraid to go fast. If you have a long drive that you can get up some speed this helps keep you moving and kinda throw the snow off the blade. Now I'm not talking road gear here but get the thing movin. 2 If you are going to drive forward angle the blade as hard as you can in one direction. You will quickly learn why you have individual breaks when doing this. You will want to ride the inside (not the side the snow is leaving the blade) brake to help keep going straight. Personnally I would only pushed backwards if you have a drift or want to push up your banks. Other than that we would go forward. And start plowing wider than your drive way if you live in a place that gets lots of snow. If you don't you will end up with a pretty narrow driveway buy the end of the winter or you will have to try to move frozen banks. And again I will say "Go Quick" it is probably the best advice I can give. Other than "Buy a Snowblower", pushing is better than shoveling but blowing is best. Hope this thread gives you some ideas. Let us know how you make out after your first big snow.
