I purchased an 860 that was converted to 12volts already, the original starter button was disconnected and a push button was installed that supplies 12 volts to the solenoid (instead of ground like the original setup) I would like to use the original starter button setup, any suggestions on how to make it work or any diagrams would be greatly appreciated. The alternator is the single wire type, and the original starter button is good.

You wouldn't have the resistor bypass, but you could just use the 6 volt solenoid.

Go to your local New Holland dealer and get the solenoid for an 861 DEISEL, the diesels were 12V systems and used the same starter (grounding type) pushbutton.
