Was thinking of building one of these. The one pictured is only 4 ft wide and sells for $600. I need 8 ft and would be using a hyd. top link instead of a trip. Is this a dumb idea? Would it be Cheaper to buy new/used? Thanks.

Just a thought here. Why don't you just get ya a loader bucket and build a 3pt frame for it. You could still use a hydraulic top link. You should be able to find a used bucket around somewhere. Just a thought. You might even go to cadplans web site, they have loader plans so you can build your own and if memory serves they have a rear mount loader that you could also have some lifting height as well. I'm thinking of building a few to sell myself, going to try to diversify some.

Gary, if you want to build something that will sell fast, take a look at the old Dearborn slip scoop. They were the very best. The only ones that ever worked decent. You probably can buy the patient for a few bucks as they havn't built any in over 40 years, or maybe make a 30% change in the appearence alvinnms

The rear bucket that you show is what I am looking for. I am looking for a 4' or 5' size. Where did you find it?

I think you would be happier with a goot frontend loader with hydraulic bucket but what do I know?

Yes, that would make me happy. The problem is, around these parts loaders are pricey to say the least. The snowblower works better on my 1/2 mile lane than a loader. Just need something to move some gravel or dirt or mulch around in the warmmer months.

Is your tractor capable of handling an 8 footer heavily loaded?

Tracter is a 1750 Oliver. The 3 pt specs say the lifting capacity is 2000 lbs. I have a 7 ft snow blower on it and have no problems. I also have plenty of weights on the front.

Just thought I'd ask - an eight footer is pretty big, and loaded would severely overload my tractor! Hoped you weren't going to put it on an 8N or something!
