Had a wide front end MF175 with a similar problem when I "unburied" the tractor. Turned out the bushing supporting the pedestal shaft had been worn pretty severe on one side (I don't remember which side of the bushing was the worst). If you support the front and with the tractor running, you may see some play in the pedestal shaft as you turn the steering wheel. It wasn't very difficult to change-out, but getting the correct sized bushing was a PITA without a long wait. 'at's all I know, have fun and stay warm.

You'll want to read the IT or factory manual on this but there is a balancing adjustment on the steering cylinder area which consists of a small turnbuckle. It's very precise,a tiny move makes a difference. Do read a manual first.

I had the same problem on my 165 a few years ago. Nomiday's method worked for me.

May want to post this on the MF board where Big Dean resides if you don't get a good answer here. Could be that you have some debris in the steering valve that's connected to the steering wheel or one of the internal parts is sticking. Have you bled the system for air?
