I may be wrong, as I am fairly new to all of this, but I think my Farmall Super A has down pressure, but granted it has an aftermarket 3 point. If I am wrong, let me know.

I have a Ford 1520 for which it was an option. It might have been available in the 1320 and 1120 also. Those are pretty cute little tractors. HP in the teens. Not classics.....yet.

Tell me more about 3PT downpressure on Ford/ New Holland compacts. I work on them every day and never heard of this option.

Yeah this is a surprise to me too - I have never heard of a Japanese compact with down pressure on the 3pt.

OK, OK....maybe I have it wrong. The option in the manual is called "draft control" and I was told it hooked to the hydraulics and would push my plow or blade down at the three point hitch and then it wouldn't want to ride up over tough spots. Did I get it wrong?

draft control will pull up the plow or let it drop, but not push down.

I must have it wrong then. This option was for down pressure. The standard 3 pt hitch will lift and drop so I don't know why they would have an option called draft control. If I can find the time to pull the manual, I will post it on a different thread. I'm sure it was available, though....even priced having it added. There was a third lever by the seat that got added with the option. That is all I remember.

The small NH tractors under the 1900's came with hydraulics that had "position control" it held the rear implement at a set height compared to the rear of the tractor. The option was "draft control in addition" this allowed the tractor maintain traction for movement by lifting the implement when a ground engauging implement ( land plow ) hit a area of more difficult to handle soil and lower it again when the going got easier. Draft control is what the 9Ns & 2Ns had.
Position control came with draft control on the 8Ns and newer "old tractors"

Thank you. I looked in the manual and that is pretty much what it said. You saved me a lot of typing. Hope that clarifies it!
