Kristin, Thanks for posting that pic. While it sheds some light, I still believe it to be a doodle-bug. There were some tractor conversions, and I posted on in the Identify this section. It only goes to show the creativity of the people of those times. Whatever they could come up with to make their tasks easier. Whenever someone criticizes someone else for being lazy, they should be reminded that if it weren't for lazy people, most time and labor saving devices would not have been invented.

Its a Doodle-bug, thats the term used in the 20-30's to discribe a home made tractor out of car and truck parts.

It appears to be entirely home made, using whatever parts were available. Just a wild guess, but the engine and drive train may be from a Ford model A, or even a model T.

Never seen anything like it. Good thing it's in Arizona and not here in NH or it would have long ago been nothing but a rusty rotten lump in the leaves.
